Confirm that Textify is added
Adding a keyboard does not make it the selected keyboard in every situation. Switching to Textify explicitly is a useful first test. Menu labels may vary slightly with your iOS version.
- Open Textify once after installing it and follow its setup instructions.
- In iPhone Settings, open General, then Keyboard, then Keyboards.
- If Textify is not listed, use Add New Keyboard and select Textify.
- Open a normal text field, such as a new note with non-sensitive sample text. Touch and hold the globe or keyboard-switch key and choose Textify.
Check whether the field allows custom keyboards
iOS uses the system keyboard for secure text entry and certain phone-number fields. Apps can also prevent custom keyboards. If Textify appears in a normal note but not in one particular field, that difference may be an iOS or host-app restriction.
Return to the normal test field before changing settings. Do not try to force a third-party keyboard into a password field. The field’s keyboard behavior and Textify’s AI connection are separate checks.
If the keyboard appears but AI does not respond
Textify’s keyboard AI tools need internet access and Full Access permission. Its onboarding explains that grammar, tone and other keyboard writing requests cannot work without that permission. Read the permission explanation and privacy policy before deciding whether to enable it.
If you prefer not to allow Full Access, Textify also offers writing tools inside its main app. Availability can depend on your plan. Avoid sending private information simply to test a connection.
- Check that your iPhone has a working internet connection.
- Review Textify’s keyboard entry in Settings and its Full Access setting.
- Use a short, non-sensitive sentence for a grammar or tone request.
- If the app shows a purchase or usage-limit message, follow that message rather than repeatedly changing keyboard settings.
- Check for an available app update if the same request continues to fail.
Compare one working field with one failing field
Keep the test consistent: use the same short sentence and the same action. Note whether Textify disappears completely, remains visible but does not respond, or shows a specific error. These observations help support narrow down the issue.
For example, “Textify is available in Notes but not in the password field of another app” points to a different situation from “Textify opens in Notes but a grammar request shows a connection error.”
What to include in a support request
Do not send passwords, payment information or the contents of a private conversation. Use a neutral sample sentence and hide personal details in screenshots.
- iPhone model and iOS version.
- Textify version and the app where the issue occurs.
- Whether Textify is missing from the switcher or only the AI response fails.
- The exact error wording, if one appears.
- Whether the same test works in a normal note.
Common questions
Do I need Full Access just to find Textify in the keyboard list?
First add Textify and select it using the keyboard switcher. Full Access is a separate requirement for its connected keyboard AI features.
Why does the keyboard change when I enter a password?
iOS uses its system keyboard for secure text entry. That change is expected behavior.
Should I reinstall immediately?
Try the setup and field checks first. Reinstalling can remove local app information and is not necessary for an iOS field restriction.
